Desirees baby

I found this story very interesting, I love how the man was quick to judge his lady as he loved her so dear yet he didn’t know her back ground like the girls father had told him. He said he didn’t care yet when the baby turned out to be a mixed baby all of a sudden it mattered because he felt it would hurt his family name. What I find so funny is he was the one who was actually the problem not her, and because he was to stubborn he pushed his wife away for thinking she was black instead of not worrying about it. The story has a good meaning don’t judge until you have all the answers because not only did he lose his wife he also lost all of what he thought he knew about his self. He should not have worried about the babies skin color and loved it just the same because now he has nothing.

The Outcast of Poker Flats

This story is very sad because it could happen in real life and it could happen to anyone. This story has a lot of realism in it because it shows a man killing himself when the struggles got to hard to handle. It also shows realism when mother Shipton starved herself to feed someone far younger who was pure. Most people wouldn’t think that society is still like this, but i bet a mother would starve to feed her baby. It also happens today in society because so many people commit suicide when the going gets tough and they can’t handle life anymore so they give up the easiest way possible. Another thing that is sad but true is we cast people out for being different all the time but we don’t look at it until we read a story like this.

Bitter Bierce

The story of “an occurrence at owl creek bridge” is very cynical in the fact that all throughout the story you think that the man will get away. That he will actually escape and be with his family again and survive but right at the very end he is just hanging off the bridge dead. Bierce took the readers emotional and toyed with them all throughout the story. Telling the reader things to make them think he is going to die but yet live at the same time. He made it seem like time was standing still in a couple of parts of the story. A good example is when Farquhar had the flashback of giving the solider some water and talking to him. Bierce was able to take a matter of seconds and turn it into what seemed like a life time for Farquhar.

About me

My name is Coleman and I play baseball at Cvcc. I’m not very good at studying, sadly I don’t study till last minute. I also hate to read hopefully I will learn to read a lot more in this class. I am a little nervous for writing blogs not because I haven’t done it before just because its been a while. I am not good at typing because I type slow and I also am not very good at punctuation.  I hope to get better at typing and better at reading in this class. the best part about this class is that the blogs will have due dates and I can just knock it out and not get behind.
